Extending  =  4 pts.

Honours = 16-17 pts
First Class Honours = 18-19 pts
Honours With Distinction = 20 pts.

Grades 10:

Our Honour Roll Students are recognized and celebrated each year at the PCSS Open House and BBQ.

Highest Achievement Award Criteria:

Grade 8:
The Highest Achievement Award for grade 8 students is calculated using the point system above.  The award will go to the student(s) with the highest number of points for the top 5 non-elective courses at the grade 8 level no matter what year the course was completed.

Grade 9:
The Highest  Achievement Award for grade 9 students is calculated using the point system above.   The award will go to the student(s) with the highest number of points for the top 5 non-elective courses at the grade 9 level no matter what year the course was completed. In the event of a tie, grade 10 courses taken during the grade 9 year will be averaged to break the tie.

Grades 10:
The Highest  Achievement Award for grade 10 students is calculated using the average of the 6 required grade level courses (Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Physical Education and Career Life Education) with NO failed classes within the school year.

Grades 11 & 12:
The Highest  Achievement Award for grade 11 and 12  students will be calculated using the average of all the courses taken within that grade level.

In case of a tie, multiple awards may be given.

Our Highest Academic Students and their families
are acknowledged and celebrated each year at a special catered dinner
hosted by the PCSS Administration.
